From Thursday to Friday there are 4,954 new corona infections in Austria. This is the first time in two days that the number of new corona infections has fallen below 5,000 new infections. “The hard lockdown is working”, said Health Minister Rudolf Anschober (Greens) at a press conference on Friday. Now, however, the numbers must continue to “drop dramatically”.
The situation has also stabilized in the hospitals. 4,405 people were still hospitalized, 703 of them in intensive care units. Despite the declining numbers, Anschober spoke of a “dramatic situation” in Austria. For today there were 113 new deaths in Austria. The number of corona deaths thus remains high.
